Chris

Chris York - Chris started musical career as a drummer at the age of 18. Playing in various originals bands over the years, covering various styles such as New Romantic to Glam Rock to Psychedelic Rock to Melodic Rock. In the early 2000's...after returning from travelling New Zealand he joined a successful covers band called Punchmonkey. Until early in 2010 when ...due to severe tennis elbow in both elbows... he decided to leave the drums for a while and make the transition from the back of the stage to the front and concentrate on his singing abilities. Chris had a passion for Progressive music since the early 80's but never managed to drum for a band playing prog.

He saw an advert for 'Female Singer wanted for a Prog covers band' and thought...'I could do that' so made the call and managed to get an audition for secondSight. After a few auditions with him and a female singer they offered Chris the position of front man,and he jumped at the opportunity to sing the songs he always loved.

Chris has also, in recent years, taken to acting, only as a background artist but has managed to get some good films and adverts under his belt, such as Ridley Scott's Robin Hood, Centurion, The Stroke Awareness advert, also a Phones4U campaign to name a few, and more recently played a German father in MI High. Now, having been with the band for a year, he is loving singing for SecondSight and also following his love of acting on the stage by trying to cover the range of different singers and there mannerisms.

Chris also plays the Harmonica, Didgeridoo and a little Guitar and Bass.

Mike

Mike Lane - Mike started life as a guitarist in a New Wave of British Heavy Metal band called Sceptre, at one time supporting Iron Maiden in their early days at the Ruskin Arms. Realising his power chords were brilliant, but solos tended to be the same for every song, he switched to drums. After playing with bands in Reading, Mike joined Norman Leader in two bands playing Classic Rock covers. Along with Norm, Mike formed secondSight based on their mutual love of early British Progressive Rock. Influenced heavily by early Phil Collins, as well as Barrie Barlow of Jethro Tull, Mike started the long process of learning different rhythm patterns to the usual 4/4. Rumours that he has now finally mastered 3/4 are premature in the extreme. Mike plays Tama drums, Sabian and Zildjian cymbals, with DW and Gibraltar hardware.

Nick

Nick Loebner - Nick spent many years not playing in bands but collecting instruments. He joined secondSight because it was a chance to play some of them and indulge his passion for classic British progressive rock.

Julian

Julian Veasy - Julian started playing piano at the age of 15, when he stopped having lessons. Since then he has played in bands ranging from the usual rock covers to original rock and blues music from the Balkans. Playing in secondSight has introduced a whole new set of challenges - as if playing this material wasn't enough, there is also the problem of transporting the required equipment without incurring excessive chiropractic costs.
